Our Goldwing

Below is a picture of our 1982 GL1100 Interstate.  We bought it second hand.  It was completely stock with virtually no add-ons, and very well cared for.  Very often, people will ask what year it is, and they are amazed that it's an 82.  They think it's new!  Since we got it, we have added quite a bit of hard to find "Safety Chrome"!

Another thing it needed was an intercom system.  With a lot of thought and a several  good tips from some of the many very helpful readers of the GWRRA Bulletin Board, and a  good friend of mine, I built an intercom system using a small mobile CB Radio with a PA system, and "Talk Back" installed in the CB by a CB shop.   For those of you who have never heard of this, the "Talk Back" feature is a simple, inexpensive modification made to the radio by putting a jumper across a couple of places inside the radio itself, and is the key to making a regular mobile CB Radio work for this.
Having had many good responses to questions I have posted on the board, and seeing that there have been several other people with questions on the same subject, I created a text file describing how I set this system up, and the type of supplies I used.  I have had several people who have wanted copies of it, so I just decided to add a new page just for the Homemade Intercom System to pass this along to anyone interested.
Happy Riding!
